I remember walking to my Classroom for the very first time as a High School Teacher.

I was wearing a White Button Down Shirt, a Flannel Woven Tie, Khaki Pressed Pants, Penny Loafers, my Dad's Sport Coat while holding his Briefcase as I headed down the hallway during passing period.

I so nervous that sweat was dripping down my t-shirt.

...

I remember students staring at me and talking and whispering about me.

They were wondering why a Catholic High School Student was dressed up in a suit and tie instead of a school uniform.

I was 22 years old.

And so the journey began...

Funny, as a Teacher & Coach, you hope you make a difference in each and every one of your student's lives.

But in the end, my Students & Players made the biggest difference in MY life.

To the approximately 6,000 kids I either taught or coached:

From the bottom of my heart, thank YOU for inspiring me, growing me, influencing me (positively I hope lol), making me WANT to come to work every single day, loving me, laughing both "with" and "at" me, cheering me up when I was in a shitty mood, being patient with ME when I lost patience with YOU, making me laugh at your "no filter" jokes that I was pretending not to hear, telling me I make algebra jokes fun and you "finally understood math for the first time in your life", that my class was your favorite class and you couldn't wait to come to it and for YOU teaching ME!

And finally...

THANK YOU for giving me 30 years of Ridiculously Silly, Fun, (sometimes sad), Crazy, Thought Provoking, Out of Control, Endearing Memories, Moments and Stories that I will NEVER, ever forget smile emoticon

Yep, I would say I am a pretty blessed man...
