Does anyone understand that before the state takeover that DPS had a budget surplus and was one of the better pulic school systems in the state???? How the hell can this governor fix what his political agenda contributed to destroying! How do we go from 100 million dollar surplus too 700 million in deficit?

This financial disaster is artificial. DPS was solvent until state intervention.
Before 1999 State Control DPS Had:
– Rainy Day Fund of $70 million...
– Bonding Authority of $1.5 billion
– Surplus of over $100 million
-- Ranked among top 25 school districts in the state
