The word Tantra comes from two root words denoting ‘Web’ that weaves through all. ‘Tan’ to expand, ‘Tantu’ which can be translated as ‘thread’ or ‘chord’ – that which expands ‘Jnana’ or knowledge and wisdom. Tantra is not however all about sex. Tantra is much more complex and ancient than its current popular understanding of it. Its knowledge and practices are like a vast drops in the ocean chords one could swim in for a lifetime and still not know it all, the sexual practices are only a drop of this ocean, but this one drop could be the beginning for many of us to find balance within ourselves and the world, in this time.
