I can say from personal experience that this is absolutely 100% true. When we were at Walt Disney World, my whole family was enraged by the total lack of Rey merchandise and advertising. It's disappointing to think that Disney, a company I generally love and admire, has given into society's patriarchal expectations. Beyond the fact that this is a snub to women everywhere, the lack of Rey makes no sense. Why make her the main character of the highest grossing movie ever and then hide her from the world? Disney needs to take a hard look at its marketing strategies and the way it conducts business -- half your fan base is made of women. ‪#‎Disney‬ ‪#‎StarWars‬ ‪#‎WheresRey‬?
