I suggest that religions will further thrive in the future, because based on simple rate of return Darwinian paradigm:
1) There is a correlation between religiosity and fertility, meaning religious people breed more than seculars. Likewise, fundamentalists breed more than moderates.
2) The rate of defection from religion is more than offset by higher fertility and new converts....
3) Breeding is hardly unintentional and rarely economically justified. It reflects a conscious value choice.
4) Religious beliefs are adaptive and maximize the fitness.
5) Hence, the proposition is true.
